The aim of the training was to enable participants to gain insight into new practical knowledge and experience in milk production in a modern way through learning about modern technology of feeding high-production dairy cows, breeding, production of quality forage feed, as well as the principles of organic milk production. Content of the training covers:
Training topics mentioned are not correct, and should be revised as follows:
-Worldwide trends in milk and meat production
-Economic justification for investing in raising the genetic potential of cows
-The role and importance of nutrition in maintaining the health and reproductive performance of cows
-Modern principles of high producing dairy cows, calves and breeding heifer’s nutrition
-Practical examples of rations for high producing dairy cows by the stages of lactation, and different categories of breeding cattle
-Land plots requirements and balance for fodder production for different farm capacities (10; 30 and 50 cows)
-Conservation of livestock fodder: alfalfa hay, silage and haulage
-Factors affecting the silage and hay quality
-Facilities for conserved fodder storage
-Milk quality (composition and hygiene) and quality standards to be met
-Principles of organic milk and meat production
